THE APTITUDE AND PASSION WE HAVE FOR BUSINESS | JillAlexa.com
BUSINESS AS WE KNOW IT TODAY
What vast strides have been made in business over the past number of years, in fact ever since the first computers and cell phones came into the equation, and if you don’t keep up with technology and master data management, your business could go down the drain very quickly.
Fortunately, we have every opportunity to learn either online or by attending courses, and seminars and becoming more competent in what we do. This can be costly and time-consuming but well worth the effort if you do in fact have the will and drive that it takes to own and run a business.
The way to keep a business running smoothly is by keeping tabs on everything. This could take a number of staff or someone well-trained in keeping track of data on the computer.
The incoming and outgoing of goods, money, supplies, invoicing, etc. This is such a far cry from the way I began my very first business venture.
HOW AN EARLY ENTREPRENEUR SPIRIT ENGENDERED A PASSION WE HAVE FOR BUSINESS
It must have been clear to my parents when I was about five or six that I had the aptitude and passion for business when I went around the garden picking the seeds off a variety of plants, drew pictures of the flowers on envelopes and went around the neighbourhood, selling the seeds.
I amassed rather a tidy handful of customers and coins on my rounds before my parents learned of my business and I was told in no uncertain terms that I should never do that again – or else!
PASSION WE HAVE FOR BUSINESS – FROM MOTHER TO SON, HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF
I was reminded of it when my own son did the same thing (although he didn’t draw pictures on envelopes) he just dug plants out of my garden and went around the neighbourhood selling them.
The loss in my own garden was really minimal and I really could appreciate the work my son had gone through to earn himself a bit of pocket money, so I didn’t come down on him too hard. Just made him return the money and promise not to do it again. That was punishment enough.
THE PASSION WE HAVE FOR BUSINESS RESULTED IN MANY EXCITING BUSINESS VENTURES LATER AND STILL GOING
Having the aptitude and passion for business has never left me and the excitement I get from getting a new business up and running will always bring me joy.
Over the years I have had a number and wide variety of Business Ventures, all successful and all suited my lifestyle at the time.
